Bossier City officially unveiled a new brand identity Wednesday, introducing the tagline “A City on the Move” as the centerpiece of a yearlong branding initiative aimed at reflecting the city’s growth, priorities and long term vision.
The new brand, announced during a public event attended by Mayor Tommy Chandler, members of the Bossier City Council, city leaders, business representatives and residents, is intended to provide a unified identity that city officials say will help Bossier City compete for new residents, visitors, businesses and investment.
Outgoing City Council President Chris Smith said the effort represents more than a new logo or slogan.
“What we are unveiling is much more than a brand. It’s really a declaration of who we are, what we believe, and most importantly, where we’re headed,” Smith said.
According to Smith, the city spent nearly a year conducting research, market analysis, focus groups, stakeholder interviews and strategic planning with residents, business leaders, educators, military partners and community stakeholders to determine what should define Bossier City’s future. Those conversations led to four guiding pillars: safety and stability, service with integrity, disciplined growth and community connection.
The campaign is anchored by the slogan “A City on the Move,” which Smith said reflects both the city’s history and its momentum.
“The phrase is simple, but the meaning behind it extremely powerful. It honors our history while capturing our momentum. It reflects a city that is connected, accessible, growing, and forward-thinking,” Smith said.

The broader platform also introduces the messaging themes “Bossier Moves For” and “Bossier Moves With,” highlighting the city’s commitment to serving residents while collaborating with businesses, educators, military partners and community organizations. Examples include “Bossier Moves for Business,” “Bossier Moves for Public Safety,” “Bossier Moves with Entrepreneurs” and “Bossier Moves with Industry.”
Mayor Tommy Chandler said the city’s continued progress has been driven by cooperation across the community.
“The success of Bossier City is the result of strong partnerships between city leadership, the City Council, businesses, educators, military partners, and our residents,” Chandler said. “This new brand reflects the pride we have in our community and our shared commitment to moving Bossier City forward together.”
Throughout his remarks, Smith pointed to recent investments as evidence that the new brand is supported by measurable progress rather than marketing alone. He cited the city’s more than $1.5 million investment in additional police officers and firefighters in 2026, more than $120 million in infrastructure improvements completed since 2021 and another $40 million currently under construction. He also highlighted continued investment in parks, recreation, economic development, neighborhood beautification and quality of life projects.
Smith also emphasized Bossier City’s partnerships with Barksdale Air Force Base, the Cyber Innovation Center and the National Cyber Research Park, noting the region’s designation as one of only three communities nationwide recognized as a 2026 Great American Defense Community.
Looking ahead, Smith said the city is positioning itself for sustainable growth through updates to its comprehensive master plan and unified development code while maintaining responsible financial stewardship.
“This new brand and marketing strategy, it’s going to give Bossier City a unified identity to better compete for residents, visitors, businesses, and investment,” Smith said.
The new branding will be incorporated into city communications, digital platforms, signage, marketing materials and community engagement efforts over the coming months. City officials also launched the website bossiermoves.com to showcase the platform and future initiatives.
Smith closed by saying the branding initiative reflects a city focused on its future.
“But make no mistake, these are not isolated projects. They are evidence of a city moving with purpose, and we are just getting started. The best chapters of Bossier City’s history are still ahead of us,” Smith said.
