In a city rich with culture but often short on platforms that truly center it, Art•ish was born out of intention. More than an arts festival, Art•ish was created to challenge the narrative of the “struggling artist” and replace it with thriving, visible and celebrated creatives.

At its core, Art•ish aims to build a stage where Black artists can showcase their work, monetize it, connect and grow. As conversations around technology and creativity evolve, this year’s theme explores the tension between artificial intelligence and human expression, emphasizing that art rooted in human experience still matters.

Returning June 11-14, 2026, Art•ish will once again transform downtown Shreveport into a hub of culture, creativity and connection. The festival will take place at Riverview Theatre, 600 Clyde Fant Parkway, and is expected to draw 1,000 to 1,500 attendees.

More than 100 artists across visual, performing and culinary mediums will participate. Guests can explore a vendor marketplace, live performances and multiple activities happening simultaneously.

One of the standout additions this year is the Taste of Soul experience and the Taste of Soul Lounge, in collaboration with Chef Niema and Craig Johnson. The experience features local chefs showcasing creativity through food, with dishes rooted in culture and tradition.

About 10 culinary artists will participate, alongside food trucks offering a variety of cuisines. Attendees can sample signature dishes while learning the stories behind them.

Live cooking demonstrations will bring the kitchen to the forefront, allowing guests to see each dish come together in real time. These interactive moments blend food and performance, connecting naturally with the festival’s broader entertainment offerings.

Entertainment remains central to Art•ish. Throughout the weekend, the main stage will feature live music from local and regional artists, along with DJs between sets. A live painting session will give attendees a front-row view of the creative process.

The festival will also introduce a fashion show in collaboration with designer Tasha Henderson titled Humanoid, exploring the intersection of art and artificial intelligence.

Beyond the stage, Art•ish expands with experiences like the TV and Film Summit, presented with the Robinson Film Center. The activation offers a behind-the-scenes look at film production, including green-screen technology, lighting and hair and makeup for the screen.

The summit highlights Shreveport’s connection to the film industry while offering educational opportunities for emerging creatives.

Panel discussions will cover topics including politics, business, art, film and entrepreneurship. These sessions are designed to inform and encourage dialogue within the community.

Among this year’s speakers is P.J. Floyd, a member of George Floyd’s family, adding cultural and social context to the programming.

Sunday will close the festival with the Art of Worship, a Christian-centered experience featuring gospel artists, youth choirs and community groups. The event will also include sessions focused on empowerment and inspiration.

The closing experience is designed to offer a moment for reflection, faith and connection within the community.

Art•ish continues to position itself as more than an event. It is a platform for Black creativity and a space where artists can thrive, be recognized and be seen.
