After the resounding success of the inaugural Humor & Harmony Weekend festivities, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is already talking about the next event.
“We are going to need more hotels and pools down here next year,” Mr. Jackson shared on his Instagram. “I’ve got work to do.”
Humor & Harmony 2024 saw multiple sold-out shows, with an additional 10 pm show added on Saturday evening. Many hotels in downtown Shreveport were fully booked. Both the Red River District and G-Dome met full capacity multiple times throughout the weekend and had to be closed.
Jackson shared that 30,000 people were in Shreveport for the event that featured a multitude of celebrities and surprise guests. The City of Shreveport has already shared that the festival’s economic impact brought millions of dollars to the city. Final numbers and economic impact are still being calculated.
50 Cent has now announced he is bringing the Humor & Harmony festival back in Spring 2026. Mayor Tom Arceneaux has told KEEL News the event is being planned for a date in March, due to the cooler weather during that time of the year. Many will remember the move from Independence Stadium due to the extreme heat during the first festival.
Despite this, the mayor says the 2026 event will be bigger and utilize Independence Stadium for several events during Humor & Harmony 2. The expectation seems to be that the weather will be better accommodating for the stadium during that time of the year.
Jackson previously hoped to have the permanent G-Dome, an ambitious task, completed by the next festival. It’s unclear if that structure will be completed by March 2026, in time for the festival’s sequel.
