I first met Federico Villaseñor, the owner of Nail Bender Provisions, about a year ago, and from the moment I walked into his shop, I could tell it was different from anywhere else.
There was an energy in the space that immediately felt welcoming, creative and genuine. It wasn’t just a store where people came to buy things. It felt like a community.
Federico treated me like family from day one, and that’s something that has stayed consistent ever since.
Over the past year, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate on different projects, including custom hats for VNDL Art Collective, and through that process I’ve gotten to know him on a much deeper level.
I’ve also had the chance to help create designs for him, which has been an amazing creative experience.
What stands out most is that he never approaches collaborations like simple business transactions.
He genuinely invests in the people around him, supports their ideas and wants to see others grow alongside him.
Every conversation feels like there’s something to learn, whether it’s about creativity, branding, business or simply how to treat people the right way.
One thing I’ve noticed during the time I’ve spent there is that I’m far from the only person he treats this way.
Every person who walks through the doors of Nail Bender is welcomed like family.
Whether someone has been coming there for years or it’s their first visit, Federico makes people feel comfortable, appreciated and valued.
That kind of environment is rare to find today, and it says a lot about the type of person he is and the culture he’s created around his brand.
And, of course, you can’t talk about Nail Bender Provisions without mentioning Tozi, the certified greeter.
She’s one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet and somehow makes the whole place feel even more welcoming the second you walk in.
All of this is to say that Nail Bender Provisions is truly one of a kind.
