As anticipation builds for the reopening of Marilynn’s Place, the beloved Shreveport restaurant is giving the community something sweet to look forward to. While preparations continue behind the scenes, the restaurant has launched a special gift card giveaway that gives supporters a chance to win free classic beignets for an entire year.

Beginning now and continuing until the restaurant officially reopens, guests who purchase gift cards will automatically be entered into the drawing. For every $25 gift card purchased, customers receive one entry into the giveaway. That means a $100 gift card earns four entries, increasing the chances of taking home the prize.

One lucky winner will receive one order of Marilynn’s Place’s famous classic beignets every week for 52 weeks once the restaurant reopens.

“This is our way of saying thank you to the community that has supported us through everything,” shared Bob Thames. “We can’t wait to reopen our doors, and in the meantime we wanted to give everyone a chance to treat themselves, or someone they love, with a gift card and maybe score free beignets for a year.”

Beyond the chance to win, the gift cards offer supporters an opportunity to help the restaurant as it prepares for its next chapter. The restaurant was previously sold to a group of investors, led by entrepreneur, Bob Thames, on October 14, 2025 and is undergoing extensive renovations. Former owner, Boz Baucum, returned to his cruise ship cooking roots aboard a Mississippi tug boat after selling the restaurant.

The winner of the giveaway will be announced once Marilynn’s Place officially reopens. In the meantime, guests can follow the restaurant on social media for updates and information on purchasing gift cards.
