Fatty Arbuckles, one of downtown Shreveport’s most iconic bars, has a new home as of Jan. 9, 2026. After 22 years, as the last original bar in the Red River District, Fatty’s has turned the page on a new chapter while keeping its signature spirit alive.

The new location is at 205 Wall Street, the former home of Ernie’s Bar, which has been closed for several months. This move marks a fresh beginning for a beloved local spot that’s been a staple of Shreveport’s nightlife for more than two decades.

Owner Chase Boytim is bringing something new to the local bar scene with a “beer garden concept” that emphasizes community and connection. The reimagined space features an expanded outdoor patio, live music, and a rotation of local food trucks. The Magnolia Pit will serve as the bar’s very own kitchen, opening their second location inside Fatty Arbuckles and bringing smoked BBQ to the late night scene. The vision is to create a relaxed, open-air environment where friends can enjoy great drinks, good food, and local entertainment all in one place.

Boytim plans to partner with Sylvester Marshall on a new concept under a new name for the original Fatty Arbuckles location, ensuring that while one era comes to a close, another is just beginning for this downtown favorite.
