Stage Center will conclude its 15th anniversary Mainstage season with a one week production of the Tony Award winning musical Dear Evan Hansen, opening Aug. 14 at Marjorie Lyons Playhouse on the Centenary College campus.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, and Saturday, Aug. 15, with a 2 p.m. matinee Sunday, Aug. 16. Tickets go on sale July 27. Adult tickets are $30, with discounted pricing available for seniors, military members and students.
Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Score, Dear Evan Hansen also received a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and an Olivier Award for Best Musical. The production features music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award winning songwriting duo behind La La Land and The Greatest Showman.
The musical follows Evan Hansen, a socially anxious teenager who longs to fit in. After a tragic event shakes his community, Evan becomes entangled in a web of lies that forces him to confront the consequences of seeking acceptance and belonging.
The cast features Christian Perkins as Evan Hansen, Kezia Swinney as Heidi Hansen, Ryan Williams as Larry Murphy, Anna Maria Sparke as Cynthia Murphy, Charlie Roppolo as Connor Murphy, Elizabeth Shoup as Zoe Murphy, Marshall Merritt as Jared Kleinman and Hannah Wallace as Alana Beck. The ensemble includes Arms Brown, Kaitlyn Brown, Evan Gay, Malaki Koury, Miles Mainiero, Daisy Russell, Hannah Salsberry, Belle St. Amant, Kat Thompson and Benjamin Williamson.
